1.WAO Plaque Rules.

2 way contacts on VHF, SHF, UHF bands with at least 25 different Ukrainian districts (called”oblasts”) are required to get the WAO Plaque. The list of Ukrainian oblasts is given below.

QSOs have to be made on the following bands: 50MHz, 144MHz, 432MHz and SHF (1296 MHz and up) on any mode (CW, Phone, Digital) starting 26.04.1954.

QSO via active repeaters and satellites are not valid for WAO Plaque.

The separate “WAO via SATELLITES” award is available in PDF format free of charge.

Three different types of woodden  WAO Plaques are available:

- WAO for each band (WAO-50 MHz, WAO-144 MHz, WAO-432 MHz and WAO-SHF`);

- 3 Band WAO for getting WAO Plaques on three different bands.

- WAO Challenge for getting WAO Plaques on four different bands.

The required number of oblasts for each WAO Plaque is given below:

SHF bands (23сm and up) are counted as one band.

2.Application.

The WAO Application Form and Record sheet can be downloaded from UARL WEB site.  

There are several application methods.

1. To send the The WAO Plaque application and QSL cards by postal mail to WAO/WASU award manager Victor V. Goncharsky US5WE, P.O. Box 41, Lvov 79000, Ukraine

2. To send the the WAO Plaque application and scan of QSL cards by e-mail  to WAO/WASU award manager Victor V. Goncharsky US5WE ( Ця електронна адреса захищена від спам-ботів. вам потрібно увімкнути JavaScript, щоб побачити її. ), who reserves the right to request any QSL card for checking.

3. Hybrid application that consists of the WAO Plaque application, scan of QSL cards and the  screenshot of the LoTW Query Page listing the needed confirmed contacts, sent by e-mail  to WAO/WASU award manager Victor V. who reserves the right to request any QSL card or LoTW data for checking.

3. Payment.

WAO, 3 Band WAO,  WAO Challenge plaques cost $25 (via PayPal) including registered air mail postage. Electronic version of WAO is available on request at no charge.

All holders of WAO Plaques are listed on UARL WEB site.
